Stroma are the appointed UK & Eire Distributors for Retrotec Inc , the worlds leading manufacturer of calibrated test fans and equipment for air leakage testing of buildings and enclosures.

As one of the largest users of Retrotec equipment for our own testing operations, Stroma are well placed to provide local sales and support for other Users.  The full range of Retrotec equipment is available for sale or hire, and training, recalibration and repairs can be provided.

Compared to the commonly used large, trailer mounted fans, Retrotec air tightness testing systems offer some compelling benefits:

  • Capability
The 3000-series fans are able to deliver up to 4m3/s in free air (or 3.6 m3/s at 50Pa building pressure), making them the highest capacity ‘blower-door’ air-testing fans available.
  • Flexibility
Buildings of most sizes can be tested using Retrotec systems. Depending on the size of volume under test, you simply take as many fan systems to site as is necessary to provide the required air-flow. All you need is sufficient doorways to mount them in.
  • Reversibility
Unlike large trailer-mounted systems, they can be quickly and easily reversed to enable both pressurisation and/or depressurisation of the building as appropriate.
  • Portability
Each fan and ancillary item is sufficiently portable and compact to be transported to site in a van and carried to the required location in the building, regardless of site conditions and vehicular access restrictions.
  • Versatility
Where buildings are perhaps complex, several Retrotec systems can be employed for  “multi point testing” to ensure satisfactory distribution of flow and pressure.  Similarly in tall buildings, systems can be set up on upper floors to overcome vertical pressure losses.
  • Adaptability
Unique to Retrotec is the facility to accept both 110V or 230V electrical supply – or even a combination of the two (3000 series).
  • Durability
Another key feature is the ability of the fans to be left running for literally hours non-stop, while diagnostic smoke testing is carried, for example. Meanwhile, rugged build quality and sturdy carrying cases provide ample protection on site.
  • Traceability
New fans and gauges are supplied with five and one year calibration certificates respectively.
